TROY TAVANI
BACHELOR OF ECONOMICS, POSTGRAD DIPLOMA OF APPLIED FINANCE & INVESTMENT
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed working at Westminster for about nine years now. Before Westminster, I spent 14 years in equipment and commercial lending with Esanda Finance, ANZ Corporate Bank and Westpac Commercial Bank. My client base whilst in the banking world consisted of SME trading companies and property investors with bank loan exposures ranging from $4-50M.
Since becoming a Finance Broker in 2010 I have enjoyed supporting clients with all types of finance requirements and varying loan sizes. My primary area of focus and expertise is around all types of finance for commercial application and trading businesses. I work most often with small to large private companies and self-employed individuals. Typically, this includes finance to support working capital requirements, term debt for commercial property purchase (investment/development or owner-occupied), business acquisition finance and unsecured cashflow lending.
Given my experience working within the commercial banking environment, I add value with ongoing banking relationships and can assist with covenant structuring and management, interim reporting and annual review requirements. I also undertake equipment finance for businesses ranging from motor vehicles to earthmoving equipment to specialised engineering machines.
I enjoy working with business owners to ensure their bank/loan facility structures are optimal and they are receiving the maximum benefit given their profile and requirements at the time.
My main motivation as a Finance Broker is to support clients in achieving their financial and business goals throughout market and trading cycles. Whether it be a client suffering a subdued trading period and hardship with their bank, a strong performing business seeking improved funding terms, a property investor wanting to compare options or a business contemplating how to funding growing pains, I enjoy getting involved, understanding the issues and assisting to implement the best solution. The ultimate reward is having new clients referred by existing clients that I have assisted in achieving their goals.
I’m a father of three teenage girls who keep me fairly busy outside work. I enjoy keeping active through cycling and have a very enthusiastic dog that requires lots of walking. I’m keen on being outdoors and always take advantage of good weather to get out on the water. During the cooler months, I enjoy a glass of red whilst watching the West Coast Eagles.
I aim to continue meeting new people, build new networks and support existing clients through what I would consider a fairly challenging landscape. Challenges also represent opportunities so I believe we need to make the most of them.
